  Vibration Monitoring and Analysis

Vibration monitoring is now a well established and efficient means of health monitoring rotating equipment.  Bearing wear, mis-alignment and imbalance are just some of the fault conditions reliably identified using this technique.

Experienced analysis allows problem diagnosis prior to ultimate failure, avoiding both machine
downtime and consequential damage.  These major savings can be optimised according to the
individual reliability requirements of a specific application.

VIBRATION REPORT/COMMENT

This machine is showing high levels of axial vibration, this is usually associated with mis-alignment. Recommend that the alignment and coupling condition be checked. If the motor were allowed to operate under these conditions this would reduce bearing life significantly. See figure 1 below.

Figure 1 is showing the trend of Heating Combustion Fan 109 axial vibration. Note the large reduction once the motor is laser aligned.

VIBRATION REPORT/COMMENT

This machine is showing high levels of High frequency “g” force on the drive end pump bearing, this is caused by deterioration of the bearing. Recommended that the bearing be greased immediately with a view to changing the bearing at the earliest opportunity. See figure 2 below.
